How to Travel
  • By Road (Recommended): Kolad is about 120-135 km from Mumbai and Pune. Self-drive or hiring a private cab is the most convenient option. The drive offers scenic views.
  • By Bus: State Transport (MSRTC) buses are available on the Mumbai-Goa route, with a stop at Kolad.
  • By Rail: Kolad has a railway station (Konkan Railway line), but connectivity is limited. You can take a train from Mumbai CST or Panvel to Kolad station, and then hire a local auto or taxi to the rafting point (approx. 24 km).
Best Time to Visit
  • Monsoon Season (June to October): The best time for river rafting. The heavy rainfall ensures maximum water level and the strongest currents, making the rafting experience most thrilling. The surrounding landscape is also lush green and breathtaking.
  • Post-Monsoon (November to February): The weather is cool and pleasant, and rafting still happens as the water release from the dam is regulated daily.
