How to Travel

Kolad is well-connected by road and rail and is approximately 120-135 km from both Mumbai and Pune.

  • By Road (Recommended): The most popular and convenient way is to drive your private car or hire a private taxi. The route is scenic. State transport buses (MSRTC) are also available from major cities.
  • By Rail: Kolad has its own railway station (KLD), which is part of the Konkan Railway network. You can take a passenger train from Dadar/Panvel (Mumbai) to Kolad. Local transport (autos/taxis) will be needed from the station to the campsite.

Best Time to Visit

The best time for White Water River Rafting is during the Monsoon (June to October) as the water levels in the Kundalika River are high due to the dam release, making the rafting experience more thrilling.

  • For Overall Trip (Rafting & Camping): Monsoon (June - October) and Winter (November - February) are ideal. Winters offer pleasant cool weather perfect for camping.
